Design Notes
This part is a chimera containing the CusR response regulator fused to protein module designed as part of a protein-protein interaction system developped by Whitaker et al. The CusR response regulator when phosphorylated is expected to bind to the parts BBa_K1349002 and BBa_K1349003 acting as a negative or positive regulator of transcription. The LZA domain is a leucine zipper domain that is designed to form a complex with the leucine zipper domain od part BBa_K1349008.
This part is expected to bind the the CusR binding motif in parts BBa_K1349002 and BBa_K1349003 especially when phosphorylated, and so in the correct context repress or induce gene expression. The part is also expected to interact/bind with the part BBa_K1349008.
